About Us

About Us

Builders’ Conference provides businesses and the construction industry with up to date sales leads, market intelligence, statistical data and networking opportunities.

Established for over 80 years, we have one of the most extensive and trusted digital data platforms of projects, clients, consultants and contractors in the UK. We handle over 10,000 projects each year worth in excess of £70billion. Our members monitor, apply for and win work every day using our real time data through the new platform.

We have a dedicated team of researchers whose sole job is to collect data on projects and opportunities and add them to the platform. Our users benefit from accurate, up to date and valuable information relevant to the construction industry to assist their business.

In addition to in depth statistical analysis and business data we are a hub for knowledge share. This means we disseminate industry news and comment to our members along with our extensive and accurate on-line directory ensuring members stay connected and informed at the touch of a button. Networking and social events are regularly organised throughout the year to enable and encourage businesses to meet and discuss issues and business matters relevant to the industry.

Our data and market analysis across all sectors is relied upon by some of the UK’s leading construction organisations and is used to create the League table of Contract awards.

Our users include main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. Our service is of immense value to companies whose turnover ranges from under £1m to over £1bn – operating right across the UK – in every sector.

Our History

The Builders’ Conference was established in 1935, providing project and marketing information to the construction industry.

We operate solely for our users who pay an annual fee to gain exclusive access to our data platform, industry data and networking opportunities.

Our team has increased to more than 10 researchers, led by Neil Edwards. Over the years, Builders’ Conference has set the standard for providing project information, market intelligence and fulfilling educational needs, as well as championing best practice and issues affecting members.

In 2022 The Builders’ Conference made the decision to no longer be a trade body and partnered with a leading UK construction platform. This provides our users with industry-leading technology, improving stability and functionality for the future of the Builders’ Conference. This partnership helps support our mission to be the leading source of reliable market intelligence information for the construction industry.

Today we are one of the UK Construction Industry’s premier data provider. Uniquely, we are also a membership based organisation dedicated to providing the most accurate, up to the date data and project information as well as arranging networking opportunities

Builder’s Profile

Builder’s Profile is the open-access Common Database service providing compliance and PQQ information to the construction industry. For main contractors it helps locate suitable suppliers and reduces the costs of administering compliance checks. For subcontractors and suppliers it showcases them to main contractors as capable professionals, qualified to work. Builders’ Conference members receive discounted fees to join Builder’s Profile.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a non-profit making independent organisation which is dedicated to improving the image of the construction industry. Through registering a project on the scheme, the Contractor is encouraged to deliver beyond statutory requirements in areas such as health and safety, the environment and being a good neighbour. Builders’ Conference supports our members in reducing the impact construction activities may have on the local environment as well as educating schools on the dangers of construction sites. We are proud to being doing our bit to help promote Industry best practice.
